Welcome to Zeek! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Zeek Chrome extension and web application (collectively, the "Service"). By using Zeek, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Zeek, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Zeek is an AI-powered YouTube assistant that provides:

  • Video summarization and transcript analysis
  • Learning hub for organizing educational content
  • Content analysis and insights
  • Course creation and video organization tools

The Service relies on third-party AI providers to process video transcripts. We strive to provide accurate summaries, but AI-generated content may contain errors.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

To use Zeek, you must create an account using secure authentication. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Zeek. Users under 18 should have parental consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior.

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Free Tier

Zeek offers a free tier with limited usage quotas. Free users can process up to 100 videos per month with a maximum duration of 1 hour per video.

4.2 Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscription tiers (Pro and Advanced) are currently in development and will be available soon. Pricing and features are subject to change.

4.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. We do not store your credit card information.

4.4 Refunds

5. Usage Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

  • Use Zeek for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or decompile the Service
  • Abuse, overload, or disrupt our servers or networks
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service
  • Circumvent usage quotas or subscription limits
  • Use the Service to violate YouTube's Terms of Service
  • Republish AI-generated summaries as your own work without attribution

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Zeek's IP

All rights, title, and interest in the Zeek Service, including software, design, logos, and trademarks, are owned by Zeek. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create using Zeek (e.g., learning courses, notes). By using the Service, you grant us a license to store and process this content to provide the Service.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

Summaries generated by our AI are provided for your personal use. You may use them for learning and reference, but commercial redistribution requires attribution.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

  • We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of AI-generated summaries
  • Service availability may be interrupted for maintenance or technical issues
  • We are not liable for content generated by third-party AI providers
  • YouTube's terms and policies may affect Service functionality

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zeek shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

Your use of Zeek is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Zeek after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time through the dashboard settings. Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will be immediately revoked
  • Your data will be deleted within 30 days
  • Paid subscriptions are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed
